    *CARTAGENA is known as the emerald city in Colombia famous for its emeralds.
    *Two re lions on their hind legs with a cross between them held with their front legs.
    *On top of the Cross is a crown with ornaments between the lions heads.
    *In 1574, King Phillip II of Spain conceded to Cartegena de Indias, the coat of arms of the colonial symbol because of the great importance the city had gained.
