Minnie Mouse Belt Buckle With Mickey Mouse - Very Controversial - Very Unusual

There are many, many versions of stories that goes with this belt buckle. Some of them are:
They were made without Disney's agreement.
They were made for Disney, but never finally approved.
They were made for employees of Disney & UA.
They were made simply to fool people into thinking they were old.
They were MADE TO MAKE MONEY!
The wording around the rim reads: "Thank you from Walt Disney & United Artists Corp., One million Mickey Mouse Club members, Technicians-CAC Men, Artists-Musicians, Mickey's staff of 125 people in Hollywood."
The wording in the oval in the lower right hand corner reads:
AWARD OF MERIT
MICKEY MOUSE
1933
ACADEMY OF MOTION
PICTURE ARTS & SCIENCE
There are many versions of both the front and back.
All-In-All, it is still a very nice belt buckle and will always start an interesting conversation.
I picked this buckle up in the early 1970's at a Disneyana show in Anahiem, CA.
