This is a really rare set of two aircraft tires that were purchased from a military auction years ago.
I was told that they were used on various fighter jets and trainers such as F-15, F-16, T-38 etc. They cost the government thousands of dollars each when new, but I am selling them here cheap for use as collector’s items, display pieces etc. Neither one of them was ever used, so they are new old stock with no wear whatsoever. The white strip on them is what is left of the original manufacturer’s sticker. Most of it came off in storage.
These tires are just amazing as far as strength is concerned. They are made by Goodyear and the measurements are: H27.75 X 8.75-14.5 and they are rated at 26 ply! (The sidewall measures over an inch thick!)
I have seen these tires used on farm implements, mowers, tractors, and other equipment, where they outlast the regular industrial tires many times over. This is because they are much thicker and are designed to withstand much more weight from hard landings from heavy aircraft. I was told that an F-16 could have a maximum take-off weight of over 37,000 lbs, so that gives you an idea of how much weight they can handle.... at hundreds of MPH!
However, due to the military origin of these tires I am selling them for display use only, and am not selling them for use in an aircraft as originally intended, or for use on a trailer or a vehicle of any kind. Thanks for viewing this listing.
