Description:
It is one of the earliest made. Roy Williams created the original design in 1955 for the Mickey Mouse Club TV show.The original had only an M on the front. Disney included Mickey Mouse for trademark purposes. George S. Bailey, friend of Walt Disney, developed the very 1st Mickey Mouse ears hat. He owned the Bailey Hat Co. of Hollywood. This hat was made by Bailey with the original tag inside (see pic). It says Walt Disney' Mouseketeer Mousecap by Bailey of California, patent pending. It is made of 70% wool and 30% rayon. The ears appear to be hard plastic, riveted and sewn on. I can't find the date that the M was removed from the design. While researching, every cap I found had the circle Mickey logo, without the M. The hat is in good shape for age. This is a very rare find.Great for a Disney collector or just for nostalgia.
